I have always loved history and it has played an important role in my life. I studied it at University and I have taught it for over 10 years. I have wonderful friends who will always add a visit to a historical site to the itinerary of a weekend away. Family days out involve trips to stately homes and castles and my evenings often include watching a good period drama or documentary. I've always been fascinated by the lives of the people that came before us and the stories of how people and places came to be.
As I'm surrounded by people who are also interested in history I am often on the look out for history themed gifts and pieces to decorate my home. My style tends to be more contemporary than some of the designs out there already so over lockdown I looked into the places and events that were important to family members and designed some of my own. The feedback was really positive so I took the scary step of starting Dorothy Grace Design to sell these prints alongside a few other bits and pieces (hopefully coming soon).
